Hello Office Insiders! I’m Rohini Diaz from the Office for Mac team. I am excited to share that the Tell Me feature is now available in some of your favorite apps – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for Mac.

Tell Me

The feature lets you enter words and phrases about what you want to do next. It quickly gets you to tools you want to use or actions you want to perform. You can also use it to get additional help with a task.

You can find the Tell Me feature to the right of the light bulb in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Click it and type what you’re looking to do.

Availability

This feature is available to Office 365 subscribers on Insider build 16.36 (20041300) or later.

We typically release features over some time to ensure that things are working smoothly. This is true for Insiders as well. We highlight features that you may not have because they’re slowly releasing to larger numbers of Insiders. Sometimes we remove elements to further improve them based on your feedback. Though this is rare, we also reserve the option to pull a feature entirely out of the product, even if you, as Insiders, have had the opportunity to try them.
