Fixes

  • We fixed an issue which prevented workbooks from being saved in landscape orientation when saving as PDF format.
  • We fixed an issue where the icon was wrong in the button to delete a Conditional Formatting rule when Excel was running in Turkish or Portuguese.
  • We fixed a problem where the “Sheet Right-to-Left” button on the Page Layout tab of the ribbon was not appearing as a toggle button.
  • We fixed an issue where the Icons button on the Insert tab was enabled on protected chart sheets when it should have been disabled.
  • We fixed a problem with printing when using page numbers in the header or footer. The page numbers would always start at 1, even if you specified a different starting page number.
  • We fixed an issue with the print alignment for sheets that are set to right-to-left orientation.
  • We fixed an issue where charts were sometimes not visible if Excel was open in the background for a while or when switching between sheets.

New or improved features

  • We improved the Preferences search by adding a result if the user searches for “misleading number formats”, which is one of the error checking options.
  • We improved the dialog for managing conditional formatting rules so that it is resizable, and it is easier to use with only the keyboard.

  • We fixed an issue that prevented the filter button from working when the buttons are in the column headers and the sheet is scrolled so that a column is partially visible on the left.
  • We fixed an issue that prevented the Unmerge Cells button from being added to the quick access toolbar (QAT).
  • We fixed an issue that could cause the arrows for Trace Dependents or Precedents to disappear unexpectedly.
  • We fixed an issue where the sheet orientation would not be maintained when saving the worksheet in PDF format.
  • We fixed an issue where the page orientation would change for all sheets the first time you changed it using the Orientation button on the Page Layout tab.
  • We fixed an issue where the column headers were not being shown in the Remove Duplicates dialog box.

  • We fixed an issue where text would not be displayed in cells containing both text and emojis using the Segoe UI Emoji font.
  • We fixed an issue where some characters would overlap in cells containing Hindi or Khmer numbers in certain fonts.
  • We fixed an issue where extra blank space would appear in the sheet tab while renaming a sheet.
  • We fixed an issue so that screen readers can announce function names as you navigate the list of suggested functions, which pops up when you begin typing a function name in a formula.

  • We fixed an issue where text would overlap after applying underline to part of the text in a cell with certain fonts.
  • We fixed an issue where text could appear outside the cell boundaries with certain fonts applied to numeric values.
  • We fixed an issue where bold would not get applied to certain fonts.
  • We fixed an issue in which color that had been applied to part of the text in a cell could be lost if you switch the font on the cell in some situations.
  • We fixed an issue where the Move File dialog would appear behind the Find dialog if the Find dialog was open when starting to move a file.

  • We fixed a specific scenario where users were getting an autodiscover redirect prompt on every launch.
  • We fixed an issue where updating working hours in Outlook preferences did not update the user interface if the calendar was open.
  • We fixed an issue where creating or renaming saved searches caused the application to close unexpectedly.

New or improved features

  • Calendar: The link to the location listed in Reminder is now clickable.
  • Mail: Rules are now supported for GCC High tenants.
  • Migration: We improved certain scenarios where migration was failing for IMAP accounts.

  • Mail: We fixed an issue where emails would be sent immediately, even when using the Send Later option.
  • Mail: We fixed an issue where rules for GCC tenants were not working.
  • Calendar: We fixed an issue where the Room Finder stopped working when loading in a specific scenario.

New or improved features

  • Undo Send allows you to stop a message from being sent after clicking Send for a specific period of time (selected in the preferences). To enable Undo Send, go to Preferences > Composing.
  • Outlook now permits edits to rules and categories for shared mailboxes.

  • We fixed an issue where double-clicking on a file name in the Finder app would not restore the window for a file that was already open but minimized.

  • We fixed an issue where an alert for certain PivotTable changes that would result in problems only included the word “alert.” The alert now contains a description of the problem that would be caused by the change.
  • We fixed an issue where the drawing space would not be visible if the user enabled the Draw with Trackpad option (on the Draw tab) in a worksheet with Freeze Panes.

New or improved features

  • We added Name Manager as an option on the Insert > Name submenu.

  • Mail: We fixed an issue where the To:, Cc:, and Bcc: fields in the message composer window of older versions of Outlook were showing scroll bars.

  • We fixed an issue that caused the Snooze meeting reminder button to stop working.
  • We fixed an issue in the French-language version where the text in the Give Feedback UI is cut off.

  • Calendar: Move or copy appointments between accounts or folders by dragging and dropping (to move), or pressing Option and dragging and dropping (to copy). (Note: The ability to duplicate events on the same calendar is coming soon.)

  • Mail: We fixed an issue where Create a Meeting wasn’t enabled in the Unified Inbox.
  • Mail: We fixed an issue where URLs were broken after a semicolon in plain text format. (This fix is for older versions of Outlook for Mac.)
  • Mail: We fixed an issue where Outlook users were unable to open the shared calendar folder if the mailbox was hosted on Exchange 2013 server. (This fix is for older versions of Outlook for Mac.)
  • Mail: We fixed an issue where Categories in the message header got clipped or showed as ellipses only.
  • Mail: We fixed an issue where clicking on ShareTo or MailTo links moved the cursor to the email body instead of staying on the email header.
  • Calendar: We fixed an issue where location search suggestions in the Event Compose view showed all room resources with Busy status.
  • People: We fixed an issue where the Contact and vCard attachments were not added to email when Send Mail and Forward as vCard was selected in the contact’s detail page.
  • Search: We fixed an issue where searching using the keywords “flagged emails” in saved searches returned inconsistent results.
  • We fixed a crash issue that occurred after clicking on the Not Now button when migrating a Yahoo.com account.

New or improved features

  • Online Archive: Online Archive is now available in the sidebar. Users can either manually move messages from the primary mailbox to the Online Archive or use retention policies or rules to automatically archive messages.
  • Filter by Category: Users can now use the Filter menu at the top of the messages list to filter messages by category.
  • File Answers: Use everyday language like “Files from planning” or “Files from John” to filter and narrow your search to find files. Your search can include the file name or the name of the person who authored it, and can include files that are sent over email or in Teams.

  • Reminders: We fixed an issue where Reminders that get dismissed while offline aren’t getting cleared sometimes.

  • Reset Account: If you are having syncing issues with an email account in your Outlook, you can try resetting the account. This option is available through the Rearrange accounts button under Tools > Accounts.

  • We fixed an issue where images or shapes would appear to flash or jump when zooming in on a sheet with freeze panes enabled.
  • We fixed an issue where Solver would open on a different desktop if Excel was running in full-screen mode.

  • We fixed an issue where an incorrect alert message would appear when trying to change a filter on a PivotTable on a protected sheet.

  • We fixed an issue with Form Controls labels, like text on a button, where the arrow keys would move your cursor in the wrong direction.
  • We fixed an issue where numbers could visually overflow the cell border when using certain fonts.

  • We fixed an issue where the values in a filter dialog would not appear after clearing the search field.
  • We fixed an issue where pressing the F2 key to toggle between Point and Edit mode would result in a beep, even though the mode was toggled.
  • We updated the Properties dialog so that the file path can be selected and copied as text.

  • Saved Search (aka Smart Folders): A Saved Search, also known as a smart folder or a search folder, is a virtual folder that dynamically displays a set of search results. For example, you could create a search to find all the items in the Manager category. This search can be saved as a Saved Search so that you can use these search criteria later without having to manually re-create the search.
